Professional Painting Solutions
Paint reshapes a house more thoroughly than any other work at comparable expense, and it shields the material underneath from weather and time. We work through color, sheen, and product with you rather than handing over samples and hoping.
Eagle Rock’s building stock is largely from the 1920s through the 1940s, which means Spanish Colonial Revival and Craftsman homes with textured stucco, wood trim, and in many cases original windows. Stucco of that vintage develops hairline cracking as a matter of course, and the correct response depends on the pattern. Isolated cracks get filled and coated. Extensively checked walls do better under an elastomeric coating that flexes with seasonal movement rather than a standard acrylic that will simply crack again along the same lines.
Hillside properties north and south of Colorado Boulevard add a practical dimension. Steep lots, retaining walls, and limited street frontage affect how a crew can stage equipment and set up scaffolding, and those conditions influence both schedule and cost. We assess them at the estimate rather than raising them later as a surprise.
There is one more consideration worth naming. Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint in earlier layers, and federal rules govern how those surfaces can be sanded or scraped. On a house from the 1920s carrying eight decades of coatings, this is a normal part of planning rather than an exception.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a painting project take?
What areas do you serve?
MT Improvement works throughout Eagle Rock and the surrounding Northeast Los Angeles neighborhoods, along with greater Los Angeles, Orange County, and the San Fernando Valley. Highland Park, Glassell Park, Mount Washington, Glendale, and Pasadena are all within our regular service area.
Do you work with Korean-speaking homeowners?
Yes. If you would prefer to handle your painting project in Korean, our team speaks it and is glad to do so. Working with a Korean-speaking painting contractor means nothing gets lost between the first estimate and the final coat. On older homes where scope questions carry cost, being able to discuss repair versus replacement precisely rather than approximately makes a genuine difference.
Do you help with color selection?
Yes. At MT Improvement, we walk you through color and finish options that suit your style and your space, and we are glad to answer questions at any stage. A note that applies here in particular: many Eagle Rock houses sit on slopes and are seen from below or from across a canyon, which changes how a color reads at distance. We recommend sampling on the wall and then looking at it from the street rather than from arm’s length.
Do you handle surface preparation?
Yes. We prepare every surface, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming, so the coating goes on smooth and stays bonded. Preparation determines whether a finish lasts three years or ten. On Eagle Rock exteriors that generally means pressure washing to strip chalked residue, filling and sealing stucco cracks, scraping any failing paint from wood trim and eaves, and priming exposed substrate. Interior prep involves patching, texture matching, and stain-blocking primer where required. Because homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint, federal rules apply to disturbing those surfaces, and it is a reasonable question to ask any contractor bidding your project.
