But for more extensive water intrusion, mold, or structural repairs, we’ll walk you through what to expect so you can plan accordingly.
How long will the whole project take?
The timeline for how long your project will take varies based on the scope of the damage. Mold issues can take a few days, but structural repairs or severe water damage projects can take several weeks.

Because we combine restoration with construction experience, we’re able to move from initial mitigation straight into rebuilding (if needed) without bringing in a separate contractor, which often shortens the overall timeline. Yes, we do. The powerful Santa Ana winds can cause severe roof damage, water intrusion, and structural stress that aren’t always obvious right away.
How do I know if I have a mold problem vs. just mildew?
Mildew and mold are slightly different. Mildew is typically surface-level — a thin, powdery growth you can usually wipe away from things like shower tile or windowsills. Mold is much more serious: it often appears fuzzy or slimy, it can be black, green, or white, and it tends to grow in very damp, hidden areas (like behind drywall or under flooring, and other places you can’t see). If you’re smelling a persistent musty odor, seeing recurring spots after cleaning, or have had any past water intrusion, it’s worth having it professionally assessed.
How long does the drying process take after water damage?
Most drying is going to take anywhere from 3 to 5 days. Of course, this will ultimately depend on the amount of water damage that was involved and what materials absorbed the water. We start our water damage restoration work with thorough water extraction to remove any standing water, then bring in specialized drying equipment (industrial air movers and dehumidifiers) to dry out walls, flooring, and structural materials completely. Drying it properly the first time is what prevents mold from developing later on.
